Lotus LUG 2026 Concours Ballot

Sample / Test page designed for mobile to enable voting via mobile device.

We collect the basic data year/make/model with registration.  A picture could be added and also collected with registration (BUT - uploading a pic may not be 'fair' to our non-digital members).  We'll need post the format class structure to the event page (easy).  On-site registration will need to be done on-line to collect information, which I 'partially' did at LOG44.   Will need to be more completely online (likely easier anyway, but is a change to Cora's system :-) )  All should register either on GGLC OR Lotus Ltd site.

Pictures would create a larger page load, likely a page for each class.

Thinking notes to set up page:

• Connect page to registration CMS- read / write access (probably don't need separate table)

• Use existing registration table and registration number as the unique ID - Admins - finalize at LUG w/on site registrations

• Add fields to registration table to collect votes.   1 for each class.

• Display Year/Make/Model/Reg#.   Handout window display cards at registration.  Same process.

• People vote using Registration number, as displayed on car dashboard.  Same process, just now online (likely phone).

• Need to figure out a data validation scheme, if any.  Could add a lot of manual set up work.

  • drop down menus by class (worked well on my phone and is active below)

  • radio button choices are created manually (failed testing on my phone)

  • ​free text - VERY easy, but very limited validation, more 'typos' (NOT what I'd do)

• Could be Very Hard to eliminate duplicates AND allow GGLC (non-Lotus Ltd members to vote).  I have some ideas, think it's possible and would require everyone to sign up on the site and have an email.  This won't require GGLC folks to pay the $$ and join Lotus Ltd.  Very easy to download, identify and delete duplicates using Excel.  I can stop them from voting twice in the same session, but one can close and reopen a new session and vote.
