Taking place surrounding the Watkins Glen Vintage Festival in early September, we are planning a two-day event based out of the Corning, NY Radisson (including a hotel room block at $139/night, taxes and fees extra).

Join us in the Finger Lakes Region from Thursday the 10th through Friday the 11th. Details are to come soon, however the highlights will be a Thursday evening get-together and an early Friday morning drive ending at our designated parking lot for the Watkins Glen Vintage Festival (location TBA by festival organizers) – and yes this will be a rally with questions/answers resulting in a prize (TBA) for most-correct answers!

There are a few items to note here:

1. The Watkins Glen Vintage Festival is a yearly event      held every year on the Friday after Labor Day and has been held since the      early 90’s. The LOONYs are the only single Marque Club to be invited to      participate in the event. Your participation includes a dedicated parking      spot with other Lotus cars right on Franklin St, the main street of both      Watkins Glen and the Festival. Also included is a pace car led 3 laps of      the Historic Race Circuit known as the Old Course.

2.      We’re looking to expand this event based on participation, including rally/drive opportunities, what the Thursday evening get together will look like, and other ancillary activities (such as the Corning Museum of Glass).

3.      The participation number for this event is 50, which is a hard limit set by the Watkins Glen Vintage Festival organizers. As with every Stonebridge Driving event surrounding this Friday, they fill up fast, and we expect ours to be no different this year. It is important that you sign up ASAP to avoid missing out on a spot.

4.      The Radisson has extended our rate throughout the weekend if you wish to stay longer and do more in the region before heading back home. Please register as soon as possible, as they will open up additional room blocks if we fulfill our initial block quickly, depending on availability.  They have started us 10 rooms. Room availability for the weekend, if you choose to extend your stay, will also depend on availability. As this is the vintage weekend it will be busy and the hotel usually fills up quickly.

2.      As we are a self-sponsored group, you will also need to send the club $50 for our sponsorship fee. This can either be done via check to Lotus Owners of NY Inc., 1659 N. Forst Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221 or by giving me a check at our next club meet-up or breakfast.
